THE JANJAWEED'S FIELD MARSHAL OMAR AL-BASHIR DOESN’T DESERVE TO BE THE HEAD OF THE AFRICAN UNION (AU)

By Bushara Ahmed Gumaa, President of Darfur's Friends Association (DFA), January, 2nd, 2006

It’s shameful and outrageous to give a chance to the despot dictator, criminal and genocidal Omar Al-Bashir to lead the African Union (AU), because his dirty hands are still stained with the blood of millons of innocent Sudanese people. And he’s still supporting the Janjaweed militia that’s turned Darfur into ashes. Moreover, his regime (the NCP) doesn’t represent all the sudanese people, because the dictator took the power by the force of arms and use fraudulent elections so as to legitimise his regime.

Therefore, Darfur’s Friends Association (DFA) strongly opposes to the celebration of the next AU’s Summit in Khartoum. Since, Sudan is governed by the genocidal Omar Al-Bashir that has already killed millons in South Sudan and almost 400.000 people in Darfur and made more than 2.000.000 indigenous darfurians people like Zaghawa, Fur, Massalit, etc. homeless. Among others crimes. All these things are taking place in Sudan under the regime of AL-INTIKAS.

Many innocent Sudanese people don’t distinguish between the regime of the dictator Omar Al-Bashir and the Nation; they believe that Sudan and the current regime are synonymous. And the fake patriots of the Khartoum regime use the name of our country as slogan to get political and personal objectives, and falsely accuse the Sudanese political opponents to act against the Nation, because we act against AL-INTIKAS’ regime.

If the African leaders pay no attention to all these reasons exposed by Darfur’s Friends Association (DFA) and by other NGOs and Human Rights’ supporters, then we'll understand that the African Union (AU) is controlled by the friends of the criminal and genocidal dicator Omar Al-Bashir, and they don’t worry about the suffering of the indigenous darfurians who are suffering abroad and inside; in the Internal Displaced Camps they suffer all kind of misery, rape, detention, assassination, torture...

Moreover, Khartoum regime explicitly support the killing of more than twenty five Sudanese Asylum-seekers in Cairo by the Egyptian forces, because an individual called Mahjub Fadl, the genocidal’s adviser said literally “The Egyptian government has the right to end the Silent Protest that has been organized by thousands of Sudanese refugees during three months so as to impose its authority”.

Such outrageous declaration indicate clearly that this regime is an accomplice of the crime committed by the Egyptian authorities, and the government of AL-INTIKAS only defends some of the Sudanese people, those who act like HAKAMAT to praise the dictator, clean his shoes and serve him like dog guards. Therefore, the African leaders should change their mind, celebrate the summit in the AU’s Headquarters and pass the ball to other country, until Sudan recovers its real democracy. Then we’ll be very pleased to welcome them in Khartoum and we'll be honored to see the elected President of the United States of Sudan (USS) be the chairman of African Union (AU).
